Crown College is now taking applications to present at the 2013 Social Fiction Conference, a creative colloquium that works to critically examine and unpack issues of ethics and morality within the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and gaming.
Previous SFC submissions have taken the form of lecture, roundtable discussion, instructive exercise, and interactive game construction. Social Fiction Conference presentations have spanned a generous thematic bandwidth, including Camping Masculinity: Play and Subversion in World of Warcraft; Superman Versus the KKK; and Activists and Active Protagonists: Writing Social Fiction. Graduate students, undergraduates, and members of the Santa Cruz community are all encouraged to apply!
